Alabama
The Robert Trent
Jones Trail

If there is a signature hole on anywhere on the Robert Trent Jones Trail, it has to be at a course called "The Judge" just outside of Montgomery.

No photograph can adequately capture the magnificance of this golf hole.

To begin, you're standing on a hill that tricks the eye - thinking that with this much height, I can hit my golf ball - if not forever - at least most of the way to the hole.  What's actually happening is your entire sense of perception is disoriented - it is still going to take two good shots to reach the green - and that's if you don't put your ball into the swampy woods on the left or the river on the right.

On a clear day from the tee, you can see the skyline of Montgomery about 10 miles to the south. From a golfer's point of view, this hole is both thrilling and terrifying.
