Alaska
Cook Inlet
Kenai Peninsula

June 23, 2001

Just south of Anchorage, the road hugs the side of the mountain on one side and the Cook Inlet on the other.  Here, the guard rail can be seen on the left side of the photo.  Note the green vegetation on the south face of the mountain while snow dominates the north face.
On Saturday, as we drove south through the Kenai Peninsula, we continued to have great weather but when we returned on Sunday, the sky was overcast.  Mile after mile of the upper Kenai Peninsula is among the most beautiful highways I have seen.  A delightful drive.
