Banff Springs Hotel

The Banff Springs Hotel is the town's most recognizable landmark.  Built in the late 1800s by the Canadian Pacific Railway, it remains one of the world's premier hotels.  Constructed of stone, it resembles the manor homes of Great Britain, surrounded by the Bow River and the majestic Canadian Rockies.
A closer look at the Banff Springs Hotel reveals the detail of the stone work from the pillars on the patio to the main structure.  It was a brisk day when we took this picture.  It was too cool to sit on the patio, and how windy was it?  Take a look at the Canadian flag.  Just across the Bow River
is the Banff Springs Hotel Golf Course that winds along the Bow River on one side with mountains on the other.
