Emerald Lake
Yoho National Park

Just up the road from the Natural Bridge, still in British Columbia, is Emerald Lake, another of the many lakes of the region which is also a popular tourist spot.
The weather, as I said before, was unpredictable.  Only an hour ago at Takkakaw Falls, we ate our lunch in the car while the cold rain came down.  Now, 10 miles down the road we’ve encountered the most pleasant weather of our stay so far.  It’s warm and sunny (by Canadian standards) as Elaine stands on the bridge leading to Emerald Lake Lodge.

It seems that everywhere we stop there are mountains reaching majestically up to the sky.  This particular view is at Emerald Lake Lodge, facing south.  Behind the pines are the centuries old accumulations of eroded rock which sit at the base of the mountains.
