Jasper Park Lodge

Jasper was the northern most point of our journey.  Home here would be Jasper Park Lodge.
Banff Springs Hotel was built in the late 1800s by the Canadian Pacific Railway.  Not to be outdone, the Canadian National Railway Company, which had the northern route, built the Jasper Park Lodge on the banks of the Athabasca River, for its executives and tourists that were willing to adventure into what was 100 years ago, an untamed wilderness area.
Inside are two huge fireplaces where more wood is burned in one evening that I burn in a season (in Florida).
There are a variety of rooms and cabins at Jasper Park Lodge.  This particular log longhouse, where we stayed, was built in the early 1920s and is still in service.
