Around Jasper

This is another of the mountains surrounding Jasper.  It’s about 10 miles away and taken with a regular lens.  This picture was taken at sunset, which in June is about 10 p.m.  During the summer months this far north, daybreak comes sometime around 4:30 a.m. and it doesn’t get dark until sometime around 11 p.m. or later.
Whistler Mountain borders Jasper on the southwest and is home to Whistler Ski Area, which is on the backside of the mountain.  A gondola, which runs year round, takes skiers from the valley floor to the top of the mountain in the winter and tourists to the top of the mountain in the summer, where they can enjoy lunch or a light meal at the Tea House, which sits on the summit of Whistler Mountain.
