Back in the saddle, again...

The weather was good for our last day in Jasper and we decided to spend the day enjoying the area and traveling in the late afternoon and evening, especially since we would be retracing our steps on Icefields Parkway and that it would be light until at least 10 p.m.  So, ride’em cowboy.
We saddled up with Trail Rides located on the opposite side of Jasper Park Lodge (down wind, fortunately).

Maybe it’s part of the American character, or maybe it’s just part of the kid in all of us, to be fascinated by horses and the opportunity of playing cowboy – even as an adult – if only for a day.
While waiting to go on our trail ride, we couldn’t help but notice the placid scene of the horses meandering around the corral, with the pines as a backdrop and the snow-capped peaks off in the distance.
