Bow Valley Parkway

We took a day trip from Lake Louise, heading south on the Bow Valley Parkway.  There are several natural sights, hiking trails, and the like.  My ever present camera vest worked great.  I could carry all my lenses, cable release, extra film, mini-flashlight and everything else and still have my hands free for the camera.
I had to have this picture – not of me, but of the heating elements for the cars.  Winter temperatures in the Canadian Rockies are routinely well below zero.  The oil in the car engines gets so thick, the cars won’t start.  The solution is an electric block heater for the car engine.  When you pull into a parking space, you plug in your car to keep the engine oil warm.
