Chateau Lake Louise

Chateau Lake Louise is the place we called home.  This photo is taken from the west end of the lake, looking across about a mile of water.  Our room was on the sixth floor in the left tower.  Behind the hotel, actually about 4 miles behind the hotel, is the Lake Louise ski area.
Chateau Lake Louise sits atop a mountain.  It’s about a two mile ride up the mountain and I would guess about a thousand feet below the valley floor.  Lake Louise sits behind the Chateau while Lake Agnes is nestled still higher in the mountains above and behind Chateau Lake Louise.
From our room, we could see the beautiful blue color of Lake Louise.  The waters of Lake Louise are fed by the Victoria Glacier.
Like all glacial lakes, sediment is suspended in the water which causes the blue reflection.
