Arizona

May 2001

My travels thru Arizona in May, 2001 were divided into three segments.  First, the blue line, found Jim and I driving northwest from Phoenix to Las Vegas, Nevada.  Next, the red line took us from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, where the next day we left for our raft trip thru the Grand Canyon.  After the raft trip, we returned to Flagstaff.  Jim had to go to work the next day, so I drove him back to Phoenix.  The next morning, I took the green line, from Phoenix up to Flagstaff, east to Winslow, continuing east to Chambers, then
north thru the Navajo reservation to Tes Nez Iah, then east to Four Corners, where the states of Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico join at a single point.  The photos on the following pages show the diversity of landscape and flora along Arizona Highways.  (You can click on the map for a larger version.)
