Arizona

Four Corners
May 2001

I guess this is something like the Winslow, Arizona photo - a place to go just because it's there and has some measure of uniqueness to it.  So, here I am standing in four states at the same time.
My right heel is in Colorado.
My right toe is in Utah.
My left toe is in Arizona.
My left heel is in New Mexico.
I can take some pleasure in the fact that there is a small industry around this point, with flags, vendors, and a photography stand, so there must be other folks, like me, that can enjoy the lark of visiting Four Corners.
Actually, Four Corners is located inside the Navajo Reservation, so they have a toll booth at the entrance, $2.00 per car.  What else is around here?  Nothing!  There are two gas stations about 5 miles down the road, but that's it.  But, I had fun - it was worth the drive.
On this day, I drove from Phoenix, up to Flagstaff and then to Winslow, and now, up to Four Corners, a pretty full day on the road, but I'm not done yet.  Next, I'll be going through northwest New Mexico and on to Durango, Colorado.
