The North Shore
A large wave crashes on Aruba's north shore Aruba is a volcanic island, and when the ceaseless winds drive the sea into the volcanic rock, a never ending display of crashing waves is the result.
Standing on the volcanic rock of the north shore.  Looking over the edge, one can easily see the two tiers that comprise this part of Aruba's shore.  So, here we are standing on the volcanic rock with the barren land and cactus about one-half mile behind us while about one mile south are the beaches of the south shore.
