     In addition to Lake Tahoe itself, there are several wilderness areas nearby that offer hiking, fishing, bicycle trails, and camping.


The terrain of California changes rapidly. After leaving Lake Tahoe, we came upon some mountain streams.

 

Views like these are just one of the benefits of taking the scenic route.
