Lake District July, 2001 |

At the other end of the lake, I came upon the small town of Pooley Bridge. Here you can see one of the local Tourist Information Offices which I described earlier. |

The photo at the left, taken from Pooley Bridge, shows local youngsters wading in the shallow stream which connects two lakes. | ![]() |
With the stream in the back yards, the front yards
supported the local business which catered to tourists, including small Tea
Rooms, taverns, restaurants and the like.
I continued on my back road
pilgrimage, passing through Glenridding, and Ullswater, on the way to my next
destination, Hadrian's Wall.
