Scotland

July, 2001

It had been a long day - or more.  Friday morning, Eastern Time, I flew to Atlanta, worked all day, caught an evening flight to Manchester,  England, arriving Saturday morning.  My day's travels took me through England's Lake District and to Hadrian's Wall.
While I enjoyed my day in England, my heart was really set on Scotland, homeland of my father and my maternal grandparents.  My plan was to continue on the motorway up to Glasgow, then southwest 16 miles to the little village of Lochwinnoch - where my father was born and raised.  Like Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes were calling.
