Geysers Mammoth Geyser There are a number of geysers in the Old Faithful geyser basin.  The largest is Mammoth geyser, located only about a quarter mile from Old Faithful, but Mammoth erupts with less predictability and with greater duration between eruptions.  One of the sad things noticeable in this picture, as well as the preceding picture of Old Faithful, and the next picture, is the devastation from the fires of 1988.
Geyser from boardwalk
A boardwalk, the better part of a half mile in length, circles the Old Faithful geyser basin.  When walking, you must, for your own safety, stay on the boardwalk.  The water temperature in these geysers is 200 degrees plus.
  Blue Geyser
As you can see, the geysers take many shapes and sizes.  This one is called Blue Geyser for the blue color of the water.  It measures about ten feet across.  It bubbles, but doesn't erupt.
