Yellowstone
Streams
Upstream of Old Faithful There are, of course, gentle streams that flow through Yellowstone.  Pictured here is one such stream, just east of the Old Faithful geyser basin.
Still upstream of Old Faithful
As it flows through the woods, it enters the geyser basin where the geyser water, heavy with minerals and sulfur, runs down the banks of the geyser basin, as seen on the right side of the stream.
         Minerals in the geyser field
A close look reveals the flow of the minerals and their eradication of plant life as the waters of the geyser basin flow into the passing stream.
