I don't think it is possible to say good-bye to the American west.  You might come home, but once you've visited the west, a part of your spirit will remain there.  The mountains, streams, sunrises, the night sky, moose, elk, and eagles, beautiful vistas, wide open spaces, freedom - all seem to capture and define the American spirit.
