A mile of
Idaho
Idaho welcome sign On Sunday morning, we left Salt Lake City and headed towards Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  Our travels took us north from Salt Lake City to Ogden, then east on Route 39, a canyon road rising into the Wasatch Mountains and Cache National Forest.  At one point, our trail took us into Idaho, only for about a mile, but we were there.
Open high prarie of northeastern Utah Actually, we did see some more of Idaho later, but we did find our part of Utah and Wyoming wide open.  The high grass ranges of the Wasatch Mountains, and other parts of the west, are incredibly untouched by development.  These grasslands stretch for miles without a house or soul to be seen.
