White Mountain
National Forest
Saco River, North Conway, New Hampshire After lunch, we retraced our steps back south to get back on our planned route.  Just south of North Conway, New Hampshire, we crossed the Saco River which offered a view of the countryside and the color of some of the leaves.
It wasn't long before we were entering the White Mountain National Forest.  We were going to take a circular route, from the Conway area, west to Lincoln, then north to Littleton where we would stay overnight, then east and south thru Bretton Woods, Bartlett, and again thru North Conway, then continuing south and east back to Freeport, Maine.
The tradition continues - including a photo of our rental vehicle.  To our good fortune, we reserved a mid-sized car, but received a courtesy upgrade to a Ford Expedition.
