View from our hotel in Bar Harbor, Maine It was early afternoon when we arrived in Bar Harbor, a quaint New England town and the gateway to Acadia National Park.  We checked into our hotel which had a view of the ocean and the various islands that dot the coastline.
We asked for some recommendations for a lunch restaurant, and we were directed to the aptly named "The Pier."  It was a very pleasant afternoon, so we elected to eat on the open air upper deck. In the distance, we watched a schooner raise its sails and sail away while just beyond the railing, we watched some lobster men weighing and packaging their catch.
