to the west, we came upon Lake Tahoe which is encircled by mountains.

Part of Lake Tahoe is in Nevada and part in
California. The state line goes right down the peninsula in
this picture. We were staying at the hotel in the middle of the picture
- the CalNeva - once owned by Frank Sinatra.
