Hoover
Dam

May 2001

Driving southeast from Las Vegas, we came upon one of the suburbs which had a wonderful view of Lake Mead, which was created when the Hoover Dam blocked the natural flow of the Colorado River.
Truth or urban legend, it has been said that there is more shoreline on Lake Mead than on the coast of California.  Lake Mead is a major recreational facility - a lake in the middle of a desert.
