Las
Vegas

May 2001

We actually had to drive thru some of the Arizona desert and cross over Hoover Dam before reaching Las Vegas.  However, I'll cover those topics a bit later.
It was early evening when we drove into Las Vegas - a virtual Disney World for adults.  It had been a long day, a long drive and we were ready for dinner.  Having heard many good
reviews, we decided to try the buffet at one of the casinos, the Mirage.  The food was excellent and the variety outstanding.  Of course, Las Vegas survives on gambling and every accommodation is made for the dedicated gamblers.  Special lines exist at all the restaurants for the "Comp" (compensation point) guests - so they can eat and return to gambling (hey, you can even play Keno while you are eating at your table).  The reception areas are second to none - and there is a special area set aside for "invited guests."  Nothing is too good for the loyal customers.
