Aspen Grove -
In 1994, Elaine and took our first trip to Colorado - what a wonderful experience.  While there, we continued to encounter what has become my favorite tree, the Aspen.
These beautiful trees, with their creamy white bark, with their green summer leaves, that turn golden in autumn, grow only at the altitude of 8,000 feet above sea level.
Highway US 64 would take me east thru the Carson National Forest towards Taos, New Mexico.  Another beautiful ride that seemed to stretch for 20 or more miles, climbing up the mountains, finally reaching the summit.  There were several picnic areas along this stretch of highway and I thought what a wonderful place just to sit and look out at the beauty of nature.
