Riverwalk by Night |

I don't know which is more appealing - the Riverwalk by day or by night. Pictured left is the view we enjoyed from the Lone Star Cafe (highly recommended) as we enjoyed dinner on the upper porch overlooking the Riverwalk (pictured below right). You'll note that the riverboat in the bottom of the picture is set up for dinner - you can cruise the river while the boat stops by the restaurant for each course. Several restaurants offer this option.

One recommendation I would make - if you visit San Antonio and can spare the few extra dollars, get a hotel that is right on the Riverwalk. There are several recognizable names - Marriott (2), Hyatt, Westin, as well as several smaller local establishments. You simply can't beat walking out of your hotel onto the sidewalks of the Riverwalk. I have several additional beautiful photos of the Riverwalk - day and night, but how many can I put on a web page? There is even one of an amphitheater - unique in that the audience sits on one side of the river and the performers on the other. By the way, the river is only 4 feet deep, so if you happen to fall in, stand up and walk to the edge and get out. |
