For now, the Texas web pages focus on
| I've had several trips to
Texas beginning in 1966 when I was in the Army and hopefully, I can add
some of those pictures and stories in the near future. Those pictures,
of San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Padre Island, and Houston will add much
needed content for the largest of the 48 contiguous states. Indeed,
Texas is so large that it encompasses lakes and hills, plains, desert,
and ocean beaches.

two locations. First, is a trip to Billy Bob's in Fort Worth. Billed as the world's largest Honkytonk, it is a bar, restaurant, concert hall, game room, souvenir store, and rodeo, all rolled into one. Located in the historic Fort Worth Stockyard district, it is about as far west of Dallas - Fort Worth airport as Dallas is to the east. The second site, known around the world, is Dealey Plaza and the Texas School Book Depository, site of the JFK assassination on November 22, 1963. |

To the left, is the Alamo, located in San Antonio. I think that most people who have not visited the Alamo, imagine it in the vast open spaces of Texas - indeed that's how it looks in this carefully framed picture - but it actually sits smack dab in the middle of downtown San Antonio. To the right, is the first house in Dallas, likewise in the current downtown area, just 3 blocks from Dealey Plaza. |  |
