Charlotte Amalie
Hard Rock Cafe, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, USVI I guess it started a number of years ago, probably on one of my business trips to Los Angeles, - maybe it's just good marketing, but I find a certain attraction to the Hard Rock Cafe's around the U.S. and the world.  It had been a long day, we were tired, and just wanted a decent meal, and a good night's rest, so we decided to have dinner at the Hard Rock.
I have a number of tee shirts from different Hard Rock Cafe's I've visited.  This time, I opted for a "golf shirt" that had the Hard Rock logo on the sleeve.  As for the food, it was fine, the servers were very polite, but things definitely run at "island speed."  Now, don't misread what I'm saying - I'm not judging - just observing.  Actually, after just a couple of days, the urgency which seems so much a part of our lives, seems to dissolve as we become acclimated to island culture.
The Hard Rock Cafe is located along the waterfront in Charlotte Amalie.  We could look across the bay from the Hard Rock and see our hotel on the peninsula called Frenchman's Reef.  Unfortunately, I did not have my tripod, so the hand held night shots from the Hard Rock didn't turn out.  However, I did take two similar pictures, obviously at different times, from the rear deck of the hotel looking towards Charlotte Amalie.
