A short walking distance from our hotel, was Metropolitan Park. In many ways, similar to a typical urban park, but in other ways, unique also. For example, there was a small zoological garden, and an aerial tramway - a bargain at $2.00 US. Near the first stop on the tram ride was this municipal pool, filled with kids on a February (summer in Chile) afternoon. By the way, I'll just quote the cost of items in U.S. dollars. The exchange rate is somewhere around 560 to 1. Just think of a Big Mac Meal costing 1800 of anything and it is shocking, but in fact, it translates to about $3.21, US - so U.S. dollars it is. |
