Royal Palace, Brussels, Belgium We fumbled our way around Brussels, but finally found the Royal Palace.  No kidding - the king was receiving guests - ambassadors, not us - that day.  A contingent of Royal horsemen served as an honor guard for each dignitary as they arrived in a black Mercedes.  After watching several arrivals, we walked the local area including Embassy Row.  Even at this early stage of our trip, we were proud to see Old Glory above the American Embassy.  It had only been a few days since the terrorist bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen and the security around the embassy was clearly evident, including barricades and barbed wire.
