"Plates" is the work of Scott Hanson, Sausalito, California, and tells the story of American life through the icons of the country's license plates.  Painstakingly crafted in the manner of a stained glass window, "Plates" comprises an array of vintage and current license plates soldered with lead and mounted on a handsome steel base.

Road Trip 2010 22 States 10,000 Miles

My travels can be accessed by clicking on any of the states above.  For right now, I only have links from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia (with music), and Wyoming - but I'm working on the others.  We've also visited the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Glacier National Park and Rocky Mountain National Park in the USA, as well as Waterton, Banff, Jasper, and Yoho National Parks in Canada.   All in all, I've been to 49 states (all but Hawaii), and most recently, my Road Trip 2010, in which I travelled 10,000 miles to visit in some meaningful fashion, the states I have not previously visited - and I am now in the process of providing links to all those states, so what you'll see, are pictures and notes from my personal travels.  In addition, I have had the opportunity to do some foreign travel.  Click on the flags to share my journeys to Scotland, England, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Chile, Aruba, Canada, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
